St. Joseph's College, Hassan is known for its innovation. One of the new venture in this regard is the Inauguration of the Digital Library (E-Lib). The E-Library was inaugurated on the 18th of May 2018 at St. Joseph's College, Hassan by Rev. Dr. Stanislaus D'Souza SJ., the Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Stanislaus D'Souza SJ stressed on the importance of reading habits among the students and the staff. In the context of the digital world, the hard bound books have lost their meaning for a long extent among the youth. The millennial generation look for E-Resources where they can get easy access to the vast information in their fingertips.

In this regard the E-Lib would go a long way to develop the reading habits among the students. The Director of the College, Rev. Fr. Roshan Pereira SJ spoke on how this library would be beneficial to the students and the staff, and help them in preparing for the competitive exams. Mr. Dinesh Gaonkar, the Principal proposed the vote of thanks. Fr. James Gonsalves SJ, the Secretary of Hassan Jesuit Educational Society, Fr. Sunith Prabhu SJ, the former Director of the college, were present.
