“Accounting is the language of business” says Warren Buffet
“Research is seeing what everybody else has seen and thinking what nobody else has thought.”
Accounting and research are two trending topics which the people in education have to think about. With this objective in mind, a one day faculty development program was conducted in St. Joseph’s College, Hassan on the topic ‘ Recent trends in accounting and research’ on 29th of September 2021 in the college auditorium. The speaker for this program was Dr. PoornimaVijayakumar, Assistant Professor, St. Joseph’s College of Commerce Bengaluru.
The program began with a prayer service by the faculty members. Dr. Daniel Fernandes SJ, principal of our college introduced the speaker to the attendees.
In the first session DrPoornimaVijayakumar, spoke about recent trends in accounting. She gave a brief introduction about the International Financial Reporting Standards which was a new subject introduced in Mysore University. She also spoke about the recent accounting softwares and their significance.
In the second session she spoke about the importance of research in the field of education. She explained the process of research and cleared the doubts of the staff members.
The program came to an end with the vote of thanks by Ms. JenisiaLasrado. The program was beautifully compered by Ms Benita Olivera.
