ZEST which means great enthusiasm and energy, is the right term chosen as the students nowadays are highly motivated and energy driven. ZEST 2019 is a District level Inter PU College fest organised by the Commerce and Management department of St Joseph's College, Hassan. Around 30 P U colleges in and around Hassan were invited to participate in four events namely Inquizitive, In it to win it, Ad Mad and Rhythm Pirates.
Zest 2K19 was formally inaugurated at the formal function which was held prior to the events. Mr Preetham J Gowda, MLA, Hassan was invited to be the chief guest of ZEST 2K19, However he was not able to make it up to the event. Mr Vijay Shankar, Principal, Brigade PU College, Mr Sharath Kumar DK, renowned Entrepreneur and Mr Antony Swamy, Principal, Christ the King PU College, Channrayapatna, were the guests of honour for the formal programme. The programme was preceded by Rev Fr Joseph Dsouza, Superior, Secretary and Treasurer, Hassan Jesuit Educational Society. Principal of SJC Hassan, Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar, Convenors Mr Guru Prasad and Ms Veronica, Faculty at the department of Commerce were also present on the dais.
ZEST 2K19 was declared open after which the following events were conducted:
1) Inquiztive: This event was actually a quiz which had four rounds conducted to test the general knowledge of the students.
2) Ad Mad: Students had to choose a product and create an ad for the same which then had to be enacted.
3) In it to win it: A team building event specially meant to instil the team spirit among the students through various games and activities.
4) Rhythm Pirates: A dance competition for the students to give a message to society through dance.
The day ended up with the valedictory function which was again compered by Ms Sanjana. Trophies were then distributed to the winners of various events. The rolling trophy was bagged by St Joseph's PU College, Hassan.
