"Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others."

In order to help individuals grow and make them good leaders and that they may help others grow, SJC Hassan organised a leadership camp for all the elected representatives of the academic year 2019 - 2020, on the 13th of July 2019, in the auditorium.

The Director of CMSS, Rev Fr Marcel Pinto and The Director of Navsadana, Rev Fr Edward Philip SJ were the resource persons for the camp. It was a day filled with fun activities as well as talks about being an effective leader.

Teams were first divided into group of 14 each and then 2 from a team had to perform the block building activity. This was done to portray the spirit of coordination and to display the importance of guidance so that the desired objectives are achieved.

Rev Fr Marcel Pinto began his speech with a quote that read "Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray." His speech focused on the importance of coordination and team spirit. He did say that as leaders we need to guide and lead others, failing to which success can be a difficult task.

Each team were given a few items out of which they had to create a symbol for the team. This activity was done to show how small things, with the help of others, can create marvels. Team work is essential in every field as man is a social animal and usually does better with other around but at the same time one must focus on improving himself constantly.

Talks were delivered on topics such as characteristics of a good leader, self-leadership and self-evaluation. Rev Fr Roshan David Periera, The Director, Mr Dinesh M Gaonkar, The Principal, and Mr Rovin Martis, The Student Governor were also present for the inaugural session.
