"It is time for a new generation of leadership, to cope with new problems and new opportunities for there is a new world to be won."

The old year has passed by and a new one has begun. With the commencement of the new academic year, new challenges and opportunities have also stepped in. College now requires new minds and new leaders to lead the Josephite's towards new vision. The leaders have been chosen and are set to lead the college in its new mission.

Student council inauguration and Inauguration of clubs was organised by SJC Hassan on 9th July 2019 in its auditorium. The event was hosted by Master Bala Roshan and Ms. Jasmine Veigas. The program began with a prayer dance performed by Ms. Chaitra G P, followed by the lighting the lamp by the dignitaries who were Dr. Ravishankar, Principal, Government Engineering College, Hassan, Rev. Fr. Joseph Dsouza SJ, The Secretary and Treasurer of Hassan Jesuit Educational Society, Rev. Fr. Roshan David Periera SJ, Director SJC Hassan and Mr. Dinesh M Gaonkar, Principal of SJC Hassan.

Ms. Suma Chaudary extended a red carpet welcome to the gathering. Ms. Adelene George then introduced the chief guest Dr. Ravishankar to the gathering. Dr. Ravishankar in his address mentioned that for a college to improve good leaders are very essential. It is necessary for students to grab the opportunities and make the maximum use of them. A leader has to know and develop the strengths and at the same time should know the weaknesses and try to convert them into opportunities, only then the individual can grow and when individual grows the college grows too.

Rev. Fr. Roshan David Periera SJ then began his speech with a quote that stated "If your passion is to create a legacy, that inspires others to dream more, look more, do more and become more then your an excellent leader". He said that success is not measured on the terms of what we have achieved but on the impact we have created on others. As leaders our actions should have an impact on the life of others. He wound up his speech by giving seven commandments to the leaders.

The oath was administered by the Rev. Fr. Roshan David Periera after which Rev Fr Joseph Dsouza addressed the gathering and said that our life becomes strong only when we put in lot of hard work. No matter what great institute you study in, unless you put in your hard work and effort it is difficult to become a great leader. Hard work and development is the only path to success.

The program came to an end with the distribution of badges to the council member and to the heads of various clubs and associations. Vote of thanks was proposed by Master Joyster Monis, The Student President of SJC Hassan.
