IGNITE- IGNATIUS WEEK CELEBRATION

"Act as if everything depended on you; trust as if everything depended on God." -St Ignatius of Loyola.

With this saying in mind AICUF unit of St. Joseph’s College organised ‘IGNITE- Ignatius week celebrations to mark the 500th anniversary of Ignatian conversion.

On 26-07-2021 inauguration of IGNITE was organised by AICUF unit at 10:30 am in Microsoft teams. Dr Daniel Fernandes SJ, the principal, Mr Dinesh M Gaonker, the vice principal, Rev. Fr Balaraju SJ, the finance officer and all staff and students were present for the program. Ms Jenisia Lasrado, AICUF coordinator welcomed the gathering. Dr Daniel Fernandes SJ principal spoke about Ignatius Loyola and emphasized on the importance of Ignatian values and Ignatian spirituality in Jesuit education. Br Joyal D’sa, treasurer of AICUF gave a brief introduction of Rev. Fr Balaraju.

Rev. Fr Balaraju SJ gave a talk on ‘life of Ignatius of Loyola’ and explained in detail about Ignatian Conversion and cannonball moment. Program came to an end with the vote of thanks presented by Ms Benita Olivera, Coordinator of AICUF. Program was beautifully compered by Br Sanson Dsouza.

As part of Ignatius week, the following competitions were held:

● ‘DISEGEGNO’ drawing competition
● ‘CONVERGENCE’ creative PPT making competition
● ‘MANIFESTO’ collage competition
● Quiz Competition

Students participated in all competitions and won prizes.
