"Kindness is the language the dumb can speak and deaf can hear and understand".

On 22.01.2020, Ms Veronica P, The coordinator of CSA (Centre for Social Action) club, along with the club members took an initiative to conduct a drawing competition for the deaf and dumb students of Jeevan Jyothi Residential School which is basically a school for deaf and dumb children.

Jeevan Jyothi School caters to the needs of 48 students who are either born deaf and dumb or have become so because of certain circumstances. Staff and students of SJC Hassan made their contributions for this noble cause. Even though the children were bounded by certain limitations, there seemed to be no limitation to their creativity and imaginations. Children expressed their emotions through their art work.

The members of CSA visited the Jeevan Jyothi premises and joined hands in helping the students to give out their best. Prizes were then distributed and every child had been given a consolation prize. It was a great experience to be with such children as they have taught us how to be content with life even though there are certain limitations and challenges in our day to day activities. Students learnt that they need to be grateful for all the blessing they have and live life as it comes rather than complaining of what's lacking.
