St Joseph’s College, Hassan Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

St Joseph’s College, Hassan, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15 August 2026 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations were held on the college grounds, where the National Flag was hoisted amidst patriotic songs and a spirited march past by the students.

The programme was graced by Mr Vivek Pinto, Senior Marketing Manager, AVEVA – a Schneider Electric Company, Bangalore, as the Chief Guest. Dr Maxim Dias, Principal, Fr Olvin Veigas, Campus Animator, and other dignitaries addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Independence Day, patriotism, responsible citizenship, and the role of young people in nation-building.

The programme was compered by Ms Preksha of III BBA and was organized by the NSS Association under the guidance of its mentors, Mr Rangegowda and Mr Keerthi N.R. The celebration concluded on a note of pride and commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, and service to the nation.
