Skill-Building for Success: Pre-Placement Workshops Held at SJC Hassan

As part of its commitment to student employability and holistic development, St Joseph’s College, Hassan, in association with the Magic Bus India Foundation, organized a two-day Pre-Placement Workshop on 16th and 17th July 2025 at the Loyola Auditorium. The initiative was spearheaded by the IQAC and Placement Cell of the college.

The sessions were led by Mr. Joshua Daniel, Senior Trainer at Magic Bus India Foundation, who provided career guidance and practical training to more than 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students from various colleges. His sessions were engaging and interactive, equipping participants with essential skills for the job market.

The key areas covered included:

✔ Resume Building
✔ Interview Skills
✔ Communication & Soft Skills
✔ Understanding and Interpreting Job Descriptions (JDs)

The workshops were designed to empower students to approach placement opportunities with greater confidence and clarity.

Dr. Maxim Dias, SJ, Principal of SJC Hassan, and Fr. Olvin Veigas, SJ, Placement Coordinator, encouraged and supported the students throughout the programme. Their presence reinforced the college’s focus on preparing students for meaningful careers through value- based and skill-oriented education.

The workshop marked a successful beginning to the college’s placement initiatives for the academic year 2025–26. At the end of the programme, the participants were provided with certificates.
