St. Joseph’s College, Hassan Hosts Successful Free Placement Job Drive

St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, in collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation, successfully conducted a Free Placement Job Drive on the college campus, receiving an overwhelming response from job seekers across Karnataka.

As many as 381 candidates attended the interviews, with around 25 parents accompanying them. The campus welcomed 30 companies and 40 HR professionals from Hassan, Mysuru, Dharwad and Bengaluru. Candidates travelled from Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Mysuru, Arsikere, Sakleshpur, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and neighbouring areas to participate in the recruitment process.

The drive began with a formal inaugural programme. Fr. Olvin Veigas SJ, Campus Animator and organiser of the placement drive, spoke about the initiative and highlighted the distinctive efforts of St. Joseph’s College in making students job- ready and industry-ready. Fr. Leo Pereira SJ, Head of St. Joseph’s Institutions in Hassan, congratulated the faculty and staff for organising the large-scale initiative and for extending employment opportunities to graduates and postgraduates in need.

The drive was open to graduates and final-year students from diverse disciplines, including BBA, BCom, BCA, BA, BSc, BE, BTech, MA, MBA, MCom, MCA, MTech and other UG and PG programmes. Nearly 45% of the participating candidates were selected, making the placement drive a significant success and a meaningful contribution towards youth employment and career development. The event took place on 25 August 2026.
