Chinnara Kalarava: Spreading Joy Through Play and Community Engagement

St Joseph’s College, Hassan, organized “Chinnara Kalarava”, a vibrant outreach programme for children residing in the vicinity of the college campus at B. Katihalli. Around 50 boys and girls enthusiastically participated in a variety of fun-filled sports and recreational activities, including Cricket, Lagori, Tug of War, Musical Chair, Sack Run, Pick off the Ball, and several other engaging games.

The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Maxim Dias SJ, Principal, who marked the occasion with a cricket activity. He encouraged the children to actively participate, enjoy the campus environment, and cultivate teamwork and sportsmanship. The programme witnessed active outreach by student volunteers, who personally invited children from the surrounding locality to take part in the event.

This programme was made possible through the support of the Physical Director, Heads of the Departments of Commerce, Management, and Computer Science, along with dedicated staff members. The event was coordinated by Mr. Anil B K, Mr. Mohan A, and Ms. Meghana H M as well as the President, Secretary, and volunteers of the Centre for Social Action (CSA) Club of the College. The event stood as a meaningful initiative fostering community bonding, joy, and holistic development among children as each one received prizes. The event was held on 09 April 2026.
