Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti was solemnly celebrated at St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, on 14th
April 2026 in the Loyola Auditorium. The programme was organized by the Student Council
and NSS Unit to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of
the Indian Constitution.
The event was presided over by Rev. Dr. Maxim Dias SJ, Principal of St. Joseph’s College.
The programme began with a warm welcome and traditional lighting of the lamp,
symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment. A floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Dr.
B.R. Ambedkar, by the dignitaries on the dais, marking respect and remembrance of his
immense contributions to the nation.
The Principal of the College in his presidential address, reflected on Ambedkar’s vision for
an inclusive and progressive India. He urged students to uphold constitutional values and
work towards social harmony and national development.
The event witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. The programme
was well-coordinated by Mr. Range Gowda DB and Mr. Anil MS, NSS Coordinator and
Student Governor, respectively.
