SJC Hassan Celebrates Annual Sports Day 2025-26 — I BCOM B Crowned Overall Champions

St. Joseph’s College (SJC), Hassan, hosted its much-awaited Annual Sports Meet — 2025 on 21 November 2025 at the college grounds. The programme opened with a grand march- past led by the majestic school band of St. Joseph’s English Medium School, followed by a smart parade of NCC cadets from St. Joseph’s High School, Hassan. Degree students of SJC completed the class-wise march-past to the stirring tunes of the school band, setting a festive and disciplined tone for the day.

Mr. Infant Nishanth, an International Volleyball Player, an alumnus of SJC Hassan and the Chief Guest for the event, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of dedication, daily discipline, and resilience in the life of every sportsperson. He shared insights from his own journey in international volleyball, urging students to dream big and pursue excellence with focus and perseverance.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Balakrishna, an International Athlete, motivated the young participants by highlighting the role of hard work, consistency, and physical fitness in achieving sporting success. Encouraging students to balance academics and sports, he reminded them that sports cultivate leadership, confidence, and character.

Rev. Fr. Leo Pereira SJ, the President of the event and Superior of St Joseph’s Institutions, Hassan, addressed the gathering with words of encouragement. He emphasized that sports are an integral part of holistic education, shaping students into well-rounded individuals with strong moral values.

Faculty and students worked in seamless coordination to ensure the day ran smoothly. Special mention goes to Mr. Keerthi (Physical Education Director) and student sports coordinators Mr. Sathvik B. R. and Ms. Prarthana for their tireless efforts in planning and execution. Their leadership, together with support from teachers and volunteer students, ensured efficient conduct of events, timely announcements and fair adjudication.

Competitions spanned track and field events across categories — sprint and middle-distance races, relays, shot put and javelin — with spirited participation from all classes.

After intense competition and enthusiastic participation, I BCOM B emerged as the Overall Champion, and II BCOM A emerged as the winner of Marchpast drill taking home the coveted trophy amid loud cheers from peers and faculty.
