'Aviva,' an annual event organized by St. Joseph’s College, Hassan, serves as a warm welcome to the freshers, showcasing our hospitality and fostering a sense of belonging. The program encompasses both formal and informal segments, featuring engaging activities aimed at encouraging camaraderie among Josephites.
Formal Program Summary:
Aviva 2024 took place on September 10th at Loyola Auditorium. The formal proceedings commenced at 09:30 AM, with Ms. Hemalatha of 3rd BBA serving as the Master of Ceremony. Dr. Maxim Dias SJ, Principal of St. Joseph’s College, presided over the program, joined by esteemed guests: Mr. Pradeep Kumar V (Vice Principal), Rev. FR. Jeevan Prabhu Sj (Finance Officer), and Rev. Fr. Rayan Pereira (Campus Animator). The event commenced with a prayer led by Sanjitha and team, followed by a Traditional lamp lighting, a symbolic inauguration, was conducted by the dignitaries. A warm welcome address was delivered by Ms. Neema from 2nd BCA. Fr. Maxim extended their gracious welcome to the freshers. The formal program concluded with a vote of thanks by Meghana of 3rd BBA, after which the dignitaries exited the hall.
Following the formal segment, students were given a 10-minute break and were directed to their respective classes for attendance.
Informal Program Summary:
The informal program commenced at approximately 11:00 AM, hosted by Mr. Vignesh and Ms. Teena of 3rd B.com , followed by a captivating group dance by Prajwal H J and team . The 'Talent Show' competition provided a platform for our talented juniors to showcase their diverse skills. This was followed by the entertaining 'Mr. and Mrs. Freshers' competition, emceed by Ms. Vrasha . The juniors exhibited great enthusiasm and active participation throughout the events. A magic show was led by Bhoomika of 2nd BBA and followed by group dance by Manish and team. The fun games were emceed by Ms. Reshma and Ms. Chandrashree. The junior actively participates throughout the games. This was followed by a group dance by Varsha and team. Then the final group dance performance was presented by Sara anjali and team. Lunch were provided to the juniors before they were led to the 'Quadrangle' for engaging games orchestrated by Ms. Reshma. Volunteers also organized a lively Flash Mob for the amusement of our juniors. The informal program concluded with the announcement of 'Mr. and Ms. Fresher.'
Conclusion:
While Aviva 2024 showcased moments of warmth and camaraderie, it is important to acknowledge that the event faced unexpected challenges. Time delays, some program organization hiccups, and minor technical glitches were encountered, attributing to the constraints of time. It is imperative to recognize that these occurrences were beyond our immediate control. Nonetheless, they serve as learning opportunities for future events, and overall, the program achieved its fundamental objective of welcoming the freshers into the Josephite community.
